South Carolina is a Southern state known for its genteel, Southern-hospitality. Columbia is the capital and many in the state’s population of about 4 million people know that the sandy-white beaches of the Atlantic Ocean is the place to be.

This state is also known for its outdoor living, with a number of mountainous terrain perfect for hiking, several large cities for the urban crowd and of course, the coast for all the sea-lovers.

The South Carolina casinos offer just as much fun as the beautiful beaches lining the South Carolina coast. While the numbers of casinos are not as numerous as they are in other states, South Carolina casinos choose to offer quality over quantity. They blend in with the beautiful landscape of South Carolina, but add a bit of spice to the Southern culture that dominates South Carolina.

The SunCruz Myrtle Beach is located in Little River and is one of the most popular casinos in South Carolina. There are more than 300 slot machines, a restaurant and more than 20 table games. This South Carolina casino boasts a smaller-scale Vegas-style vibe and is a favorite for locals and visitors alike.

The town of Little River also features the Southern Elegance Casino Cruise, which features more than 200 slots in an elegant setting. There is also a dining option with this South Carolina casino and it is the perfect way to spend any evening with a loved one or a group of friends celebrating a night out on the town. It is known for its natural beauty and the Southern Elegance Casino Cruise is no exception, with its stunning decor.

The Catawba High Stakes Bingo, is also one of South Carolina casinos, is located in Rock Hill and has some of the best bingo games found around South Carolina. High stakes bingo has been emerging on the gambling seen as a lucrative gambling option in South Carolina casinos, and is a great choice for beginning and professional gamblers alike.

South Carolina casinos are reflective of the state’s environment as a whole – laid-back, tourist-friendly facilities featuring variety, but not so much so that it comes as a shock to your senses. From the Southern hospitality to the variety of games and services, South Carolina casinos have carved out their own spot on the national casino scene.

Chiropractic is a holistic medicine that is taught in several South Carolina chiropractic schools. The ancient art of chiropractic is based on the philosophy that the human body can achieve and maintain health without prescription drugs or needless surgeries. Those with a desire to learn holistic health practices should seek chiropractic schools that espouse a strong philosophy of natural healing.

Chiropractic schools in South Carolina provide training that promotes natural, drug-free, non-invasive chiropractic medicine. Students will study several physical sciences, as well as X-ray, assessment and diagnostics, nutrition, communication skills, and counseling. Chiropractic students will gain extensive, practical hands-on experience in spinal and joint adjustments that help promote natural recuperation, added strength, and general good health in patients. Aspiring chiropractors learn methods of determining health needs of individual patients, evaluation, and diagnosis. Students are taught to consider individual stress factors, daily exercise, adequate rest, fluid and nutritional intake, and genetic makeup. Chiropractic schools will usually provide a supervised clinical setting for students to practice diagnostic skills and hone their spinal adjusting techniques.

Chiropractic schools in South Carolina offer the option to obtain certificates and Bachelor Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), and Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) Degrees. Students may specialize in orthopedics, sports injuries, neurology, nutrition, diagnostic imaging, or internal disorders. The serious student should allow four to six years of intense chiropractic studies, including an internship. If you are considering opening your own chiropractic practice, you should invest in additional business courses beyond those received in your chiropractic training. This extra step could mean the difference between operating a thriving chiropractic business and one that is more prone to failure. Practicing chiropractors are well-rewarded for their efforts. Salaries are reported to be between $70,000 and $120,000 or more annually. Geographic location, experience and level of education will greatly influence income expectations, but employment prospects are excellent for chiropractors now and in the future.

Newberry, South Carolina, founded in 1745, is a city rich in history. Its past has been well preserved in a number of historic districts. Newberry has a well restored downtown containing several blocks in which every building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its tree-lined streets are lined with elegant historic homes. Most of the properties are privately owned, but a walk or drive around town affords visitors the opportunity to view a number of Newberry’s gems.

The Newberry Historic District contains 35 properties in downtown Newberry, primarily commercial, public, and religious buildings. Architectural styles in this area include Neo-Classical, Romanesque Revival, Greek Revival, and Art Deco. The historic buildings contain a variety of shops, galleries, and restaurants. The downtown historic district is the center of the community and the venue for a number of festivals, concerts, and other events throughout the year.

The College Street Historic District is a residential area adjacent to Newberry College. Homes in this area were built from the 1880s to 1925. This neighborhood was originally a faculty residential area. The college boasts four buildings that are listed on the National Register. Smeltzer Hall (1877), Keller Hall 1895), Holland Hall (1904), and Derrick Hall (1925) are brick buildings typical of late 19th and early 20th century institutional architecture. The college is situated on a beautiful 90 acre campus.

The Main Street Historic District is a lovely upper class neighborhood with homes dating from the 1840s to the 1950s. This area contains significant examples of Italianate, Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, and Victorian architecture. The Boundary Street- Newberry Cotton Mills Historic District contains a mill workers’ village surrounding the 1884 cotton mill property. This area is a reminder of the importance of the mill to the city’s economic development.

Other historic districts located in the city include Caldwell Street, Harrington Street, Vincent Street, and West Boundary Street. Each of these areas contains a variety of interesting structures in different styles. Some of the buildings were elegant mansions belonging to community leaders, and others were simple raised cottages and bungalows.

The Conservation efforts in the historic districts show Newberry’s commitment to honoring its history. This picturesque town in the midlands of South Carolina is well worth a visit.

From the Upstate, to the midlands, to the coast: this state offers great golf courses in all areas and locations. But for the sake of this article, we will focus on the South Carolina coast where most golfers book their South Carolina golf vacation packages. So for those of you wanting to golf coastal South Carolina, let’s take a look at Kiawah Island, Charleston, Hilton Head and of course Myrtle Beach.

Kiawah Island golf packages might cost more than vacation packages in other coastal destinations. But if you love golf, luxurious accommodations and a secluded setting; then this might just be the South Carolina golf destination for you. The golf is spectacular and the private, natural setting will have coming back to play Kiawah Island golf courses again and again.

Charleston golf vacations are not as popular as other locations. They should be. The city itself annually wins awards as one of the best places to visit and one of the best places to dine. But golf in Charleston is also no slouch. Golf courses in locations like Wild Dunes and Patriot’s Point can compete will provide you with great golf and if you are up for the short drive, Kiawah Island is just down the road.

For the golfer who wants to enjoy a South Carolina golf vacation that features a large quantity of golf courses with plenty of other options to enjoy, then you might want to consider Hilton Head Island. A Hilton Head, SC vacation provides all the golf you can play along with great tennis, beaches, biking trails and more in a larger but smaller scale than what is found in Myrtle Beach.

And speaking of the Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach golf packages have long been the front runner when it comes to South Carolina golf destinations and golf vacations. If you want a golf vacation package with most golf course options then you will want to golf coastal South Carolina on the Grand Strand.

As you can see, you have four great choices when choosing a coastal golf vacation in South Carolina. You can really not go wrong when choosing from Myrtle Beach, Kiawah Island, Charleston or Hilton Head. And heck, why not take a month off work and play golf at all four of these coastal South Carolina golf destinations.

Visitors to Gaffney, South Carolina will find several opportunities to enjoy special holiday festivities this year. Beginning in early December and continuing through the month, any of these special activities will help usher in the holiday spirit. All of the planned events are family friendly and welcome visitors.

The 10th annual Christmas on Limestone begins on December 3 at 5pm in historic downtown Gaffney. The campus of Limestone College will be the setting of the Lighting of the Luminaries. The campus and surrounding neighborhoods will be magically lit by over 10,000 luminaries. Other activities on campus include a holiday reception, a visit from Santa, and the lighting of the Limestone College Christmas tree on the front lawn. A “Sounds of the Season” holiday concert will be presented by the Limestone College Music Department. The concert is a montage of choral music performed by community choral groups and the Limestone College Children’s Chorus. Festivities will take place over several blocks of the downtown area as well. Activities will include horse and carriage rides, live music and caroling, the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree, a live nativity, and free ornament making at the Gaffney Visitor’s Center.

The Gaffney Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 11. The parade begins at 10am in Thompson Park and proceeds along Limestone Street in downtown Gaffney. Participating in the parade will be ROTC units, local and regional bands, decorated floats, and Santa. This is a fun holiday event for the entire family. After the parade ends, visitors may wish to visit the Festival of Trees at Gaffney City Hall, or do some Christmas shopping in one of downtown Gaffney’s specialty stores.

Visitors to the area should also plan to spend some time shopping for holiday gifts at the Gaffney Premium Outlets. The 75 outlet stores at the mall include such favorites as Brooks Brothers, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Gap, Polo Ralph Lauren, Coach, and Pottery Barn. The outlets will be open extended holiday hours following Thanksgiving, and many of the stores will offer sales and special holiday promotions. Whether in town for the weekend or just passing through, visitors are welcome to join Gaffney residents for the festivities. Gaffney’s small town charm and friendly atmosphere are sure to put visitors in the holiday mood.

South Carolina offers a number of fun areas to find a vacation home. The key is to make sure you choose a destination that fits your expectations. The barrier islands, like the Isle of Palms, have unmatched privacy but are limited in their extracurricular attractions. Myrtle Beach on the other hand has a wide array of amusement activities, but is very densely populated. You should consider your vacation expectations before choosing a destination.

A complete assessment of your vacation budget should be done before shopping for a vacation rental. Keep in mind that the rental rate does not include ancillary costs such as tax, travel fares, food and beverage, or amusement prices. Depending on your situation, the vacation rental rate may only represent half of the total cost of your vacation. The season that you visit South Carolina will have a direct impact on the cost of your vacation. The most expensive time period falls between Memorial Day and Labor Day. You are more likely to find bargain prices if you can avoid this peak season.

In the era of online information, most people are utilizing the internet for reserving their South Carolina Vacation Rentals. While this is a time efficient way to search properties, you need to conduct in-depth research on the property you are considering. Ask the owner for three or more references from previous rental tenants. Call the references and ask them questions about the cleanliness and upkeep of the property. You may also want to ask about the accessibility of area attractions. Calling rental references is a great way to make sure your dream vacation rental lives up to its billing.

One of the easiest ways to exceed your vacation budget is to overlook the terms and conditions of your rental agreement. Be sure to incorporate common costs such as lodging tax, linen charges, cleaning costs, and club memberships. Most of these items are clearly outlined in your rental agreement. You should also be comfortable with the terms of payment. Most vacation rentals require 50% of the rental rate provided up front, along with a security deposit. The balance is typically due about 14 days prior to the rental date. Overlooking these deadlines could result in losing your reservation and deposit.
